The grand finale - 25th March 2006
The 25th of March, 2006 was a witness to the three most important events in the LSG Calendar - At the AGM we bid goodbye to our President Mrs Vnadana Khaitan and warmly welcomed Mrs Bharti Deveshwar as the President and Mrs Malika Varma as the new Vice President. Thereafter, the prestigious ladies Study Group Charitable  Trust  Award  was  given to  the  Mendaid Association - an organzation working with and for mentally handicapped children and youth. The icing on the cake was a talk on Empowerment of Women by the super talented, award-winning actor and social activist SHABANA AZMI. She stressed that empowerment is in on way related to the financial status of a woman, rather her mental strength and ability to make her life better and more meaningful.
 
Colors of LSG in the circle of life - 27th February 2006
The first programme of the new year was held on 27th of February, 2006. A fashion extravaganza depicting the different facets, colours, moods and phases of a woman's life. The show was choreographed by Oindrilla Dutt and the participants were none other than the beautiful and very sporting ladies of LSG itself. They all walked the ramp in costumes  designed  by  some  of  Kolkata  and  India's top designers - Komal Sood, Shamlu Dudeja, Shehashish Bhattacharya and Abhishek Dutta. Of course, our Past Presidents made this event extra special - they elegantly sashayed the ramp, dressed in beautiful Mona Pali originals.
 
Designer Babies - 16th December 2005
India’s best known columnist and author with thirteen chart toppers to her credit, easily one of the country’s most beautiful women and one of our most popular cultural icons – Shobhaa De – addressed LSG on her latest book Spouse : The Truth About Marriage. Oindrilla, in conversation with Shobhaa weaved her through the different spheres of her life.
 
Funtakshari - 10th November 2005
A programme purely for the lovely ladies of LSG to let down their hair and have fun! This quiz-cum-antakshari event was presented by Gaurav Gupta and his Fast Forward team. Four rounds of quizzing on movie magic had our members singing and dancing the evening away. Funtakshari was held on 10th of November, 2005.
 
Woman of Steel - Dr. Kiran Bedi - 12th September 2005
A session with super cop Dr. Kiran Bedi was held on 12th of September, 2005. As always, Dr.Kiran Bedi exuded power and strength even while she spoke. She shared with our audience her life story – how she followed her dream of joining the police service in spite of being a woman. She spoke of the trials and tribulations she faced at first and how she overcame them all through sheer determination to make-it in a so called “man’s world”. The best  part of  her talk  however, was  the touching stories she shared about the inmates of the Tihar Jail.
 
Success Story - Kiran Mazumdar Shaw - 3rd September 2005
LSG’s first programme of September held on 3rd of September, 2005 was a passionate talk by a very enterprising woman, one whom India is very proud of, biotech entrepreneur and CEO of Boicon India Group, Ms Kiran Mazumder shaw. She shared with our members her journey from being educated in Melbourne University (Australia) – specializing in malting and brewing technology to finally following her dream and staring an individual enzyme company – Biocon India, at the early age of 25. Kiran spoke of  the year of hard work she put in and of course the support and dedication of her team that has helped in the growth and diversification of the company. She urged our members to use information of her team Internet to become better informed about new generation medicine and medical practices.
 
Buying Art : Pleasure or Investment - 24th August 2005
This event held on 24th of August, 2005 at the newly inaugurated Gallery Sanskriti saw the coming together of a very distinguished panel of speakers – the extremely senior and highly respected artist Mr Paritosh Sen; Senior Restorer, Victoria Memorial and Director of Gallery 88 Mr Arun Ghosh and Mr Avijit Majumder, an industrialist and a passionate collector of art for over three decades. Moderating this panel was art historian and Professor in History – Prof Tapati Guha Thakurta.
 
The Changing face of Indian Media - 26th July 2005
Well known media personality, Rajdeep Sardesai was the guest speaker at the LSG event held on 26th of July, 2005. This outstanding journalist, probably best known as the moderator for the popular show titled “The Big Fight”, captivated our audience with his story. He spoke about how he started his career and his dream to be part of a new journalist-driven channel. Mr Sardesai spoke about good journalism and how the Indian media has changed over the decades and where it’s headed in the years to come.
 
Bollywood Tollywood - 15th July 2005
The afternoon of 15th of July, 2005 was witness to an informal yet very candid interaction between our members and two of the most talked about names in Indian cinema today – the very talented Konkona Sen Sharma and ace director Rituparno ghosh. Konkana and rituparno spoke about their recent successes and forthcoming assignments. They also discussed the past present and future of cinema.
 
Flury's factory Visit - 6th July 2005
Close on the heels of the look-good, feel-good programme, was one on good food – A visit to the Flury’s factory, on 6th of July, 2005. The members of LSG were given a conducted tour through the renovated Flury’s factory by none other than ace chef Shaun Kenworthy. The ladies witnessed first-hand how those sinfully rich, mouth-watering treats are whipped up on a daily basis. The chef and his team also conducted demos and answered culinary queries.
 
Skincare - 24th June 2005
The next programme of the year was on Skincare, a topic that is close to every woman’s heart. This event was held on 24th of June, 2005, in association with Kaya Skin Clinic. It was an informative session wherein an expert dermatologist along with his team, talked about skincare and anti-aging therapies. They also performed demo skin treatments using a one-of-its-kind machine in India.
 
Woman - Reel and Real - 3rd May 2005
LSG’s first programme held on 3rd of May, 2005, had the very talented, versatile and award winning actress Rohini Hattangady in conversation with well known theatre personality Renu Roy. Rohini spoke candidly about her life and her work in theatre, films and television. To date, Rohini Hattangady is the only Asian to get the coveted BAFTA (British Academy of Films and Television Arts) Award for the best supporting actress for her role in Gandhi. She spoke at length about her experiences during the shooting of this film.
