Shobhaa De talks about Spouse - 18th March 2005
India’s best known columnist and author with thirteen chart toppers to her credit, easily one of the country’s most beautiful women and one of our most popular cultural icons – Shobhaa De – addressed LSG on her latest book Spouse : The Truth About Marriage. Oindrilla, in conversation with Shobhaa weaved her through the different spheres of her life.
 
Flower Power – 11th February 2005
The most glamorous event of the year saw our LSG members walk the ramp in beautiful Sabyasachi originals. This was followed by a tete-a-tete and rapid fire session hosted by Rita Bhimani with Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Of course, having the event on the lush lawns of Mrs Alka Bangur’s award winning garden gave greater meaning to Flower Power !
 
India in the World - The world in India -12th January 2005
The annual award ceremony was the first programme in the new year. It was also the most important event of the LSG calendar. This year’s award was given to The Oral School for Deaf Children for the highly commendable work in caring for and rehabilitating speech and hearing impaired children. The award ceremony was followed by a talk session between Mr. Kamal Nath, Union Minister for Commerce & Industry and our very own Mr. Harsh Neotia. They spoke about India’s growth in every field and it’s position in the global scenario.
 
Good and Healthy Living - 9th December 2004
We had the extremely successful international model, writer, actor, celebrated chef of course wife of author Salman Rushdie, Padma Lakshmi in conversation with Chiki Sarkar. Padma spoke about, food, diet, living healthy and of course how she manages to maintain her multifaceted celebrity status. The icing on the cake was when Mr. Rushdie himself graced the occasion and spoke to the members.
 
Connoisseur’s Evening – 19th November 2004
What better way to start getting into the festive mood that to enjoy an evening of wine tasting! Mr. Abhay Kewadkar of Grover Vineyards gave us insights into wine making and tasting. We also had renowned food critic Ms Rashmi Uday Singh who shared her views on food and good living.
 
Dui Tarang (a play) - 5th November 2004
LSG and Ms Madhulika Khaitan of Hugli (the lifestyle store) jointly organized a play that demonstrated how one should seek the sunny side of life despite its disappointments. Well known theatre personality Dolly Basu was the lead actor and director of the play.
 
Tarot Cards and Numerology - 2nd November 2004
Manish Malhotra, Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor and many more stars, politicians and celebrities consult her before planning anything in their lives … our guest Sunita Menon is Mumbai’s most celebrated clairvoyant and tarot card reader. She spoke to our members about numerology – lucky number, birth numbers etc. She also shared tips and techniques of tarot card reading.
 
Oh, Mind Relax Please! - 13th September 2004
A one-day interactive workshop with Swami Sukhbodhananda. Stress, our biggest enemy and the origin of most of our troubles – through this workshop Swamiji helped us identify the treasures and vastness of our inner resources to combat stress, fatigue and pressure so that we can try to change our lives from ordinary to extraordinary.
 
LSG Foundation Day Celebrations - 5th September 2004
LSG’s Foundation Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Mir of Radio Mirchi fame compered the event. Our members really enjoyed participating in the games, fun and frolic. Amid all the excitement, time was also taken out to distribute food packets to some children and bring a smile on their faces too.
 
From Saint to Sainthood - 26th August 2004
On Mother Teresa’s birth anniversary, LSG organized the screening of a documentary on Mother’s Journey towards sainthood (scripted and directed by Payal Mohanka). After the film there was a short interaction with Sr. Nirmala, Superior General, Missionaries of Charity and Mrs Sunita Kumar.
 
Bridging the Communication Gap - 9th August 2004
A talk by Dr Vasantha Patri, Chairperson, Indian Institute of Counseling, New Delhi, aimed to help us combat communication problems head-on. Be it in the family or the work place, she shared useful tips on the art of effective communication.
 
Osteoporosis and Pain Management - 26th July 2004
We had two very well known doctors take center stage – Dr Shaikh Hassan Iqbal, a master Orthopedic and Spinal Surgeon and Dr C S Mukherjee, Calcutta’s most successful pain therapist talked to our members about two medical conditions that plague us greatly – Osteoporosis and Arthritis. This was an extremely educative event.

A talk by Dr Vasantha Patri, Chairperson, Indian Institute of Counseling, New Delhi, aimed to help us combat communication problems head-on. Be it in the family or the work place, she shared useful tips on the art of effective communication.
 
What the Kiskholi Said - 21st June 2004
Mr Karan Grover – Winner of the Version 2 Platinum Award, made a presentation that was a visual journey illustrating Indian’s rich architectural tradition. The event also addressed architectural issues that could be applied to our daily lives.
 
Solitaire (know your diamonds better) - 5th May 2004
This programme in association with the Trendsmith Jewellery store had Mr Samrat Zaveri and Mr Krish Khiraiya talk about diamonds and other precious gems. Both the speakers gave very handy tips on how to recognize and maintain diamond jewellery.
 
India is Shining – Is it because of our education system or in spite of it? - 22nd April 2004
An interactive session to discuss the ‘goods’ and ‘bas’ of our education system brought together Mrs Ranee Banerjee (parent) and Dev Kapur (student) who spoke about the disadvantages of the system and Ms Sharmila Bose (principal of Birla High School - Girls) and Dr Kavita Panjabi (professor) who talked about the advantages of our system of education.
 
Dance of Democracy, Noise – Voice – Choice - 29th March 2004
This aptly titled programme was a discussion on the then upcoming elections. The panelists were none other than adman and columnist Mr Suhel Seth and Editor-in-Chief of the Asian Age Mr M J Akbar. Renowned actor Mr Victor Banerjee moderated the proceeding. The discussion was filled with loads of hard-hitting sarcasm and witty reproach, sparing none.
